Whenever I play all I have access to are 12 courses, but I've seen other people playing on other modes and with access to all the songs. Someone told me to press the left, right, and start buttons at the beginning, but 9 times out of ten that doesn't seem to work. I've wasted a lot of money trying and ending up playing titan course forty times.

I haven't seen many threads here aside from ones pertaining to iidx and the like, so I'm a little doubtful that anyone has an answer for me...

After you put in your coins, hold down either the Left or Right button and press start. That'll give you options for singles, center or doubles; courses, songs or marathons; and modifiers.

I know some DDR machines that have the whole "Hold down an arrow while you hit select" sometimes don't work unless they're both held down, so I do that just to be safe, and I *KNOW* it works on DMX and Dance Freaks, so if it doesn't work with one, try holding both leftsel.gif and rightsel.gif before you hit the start button.

Ah. Thank you very much. Hopefully I can get it to work properly next time I visit the arcade.

Being a former DMX player, what DMX mix're you playing over there? If it's DMX 2nd Mix (or 2nd Mix append JPARADISE), after inserting coins hold Right+Start. After selecting either Single or Center (or 2-Credits Double if you're advanced), press Right all the way until you see Marathon Course (Don't ever call it Marathon Mode!).

For DMX 1st Mix and Dance Freaks 1st Mix, you have to hold down both to enter options. You can do it on DMX 2nd or J-Paradise, but it won't give you some options (I think one of them being speed modifiers).

It's a 2nd mix append j-paradise machine. I think the problem I was having was that I was pressing all three buttons at once. It's really weird that they hide most of the machine's capabilities from the general public.

Wait a second.

Where in Chicago are you playing a DMX 2nd Mix Append?

You CAN hit all three buttons at once, but I would suggest holding the ARROWS down first before hitting start. But go with DarcLion's suggestion, and don't hold the left button down (you'll get a modifier menu plus two extra songs).

I'm in Oregon at the moment. If there's a DMX machine of any kind in Chicago, I wouldn't know it, but I'd like to see one.

The only 2nd Mix machine (no J-Paradise) is in Northbrook at Nickel City. It's been there for quite a while now.
