Arturo again sends word that the location of this Saturday's PIU regional qualifier has changed abruptly - It will now be at the Coin It Up arcade in the Southland Mall Shopping Center in Houma, LA. All the original tournament information is unchanged. _________________

I'm one of the locals at Southland Mall, and I've acquired some info from a friend of mine about the tourney. If I'm correct, they're planning on using an Exceed 2 kit for this occasion.
Now, I don't know if this is 100% true, but I will find out, as I will be there Saturday on my usual weekend DDR and Pump routes. Chances are, I might not enter the Pump tourney, but I'll see.
Oh, yeah, the arcade is Pocket Change, not Coin It Up, but that doesn't really matter. That's the only arcade, decent one anyway, that Houma has. |

I know it's listed in Machine Locations as Pocket Change, but Arturo specifically said that it should be listed as Coin It Up, and not Pocket Change. _________________

Dale (the manager) and I are close buds, and usually, he'd fill me in on these details. Of course, I didn't get to go last week, so I didn't find anything out. I'm gonna have to ask him tomorrow when I go up there.
I'm not calling you or this Arturo a liar or anything, so please don't take it the wrong way. It's just that Dale never fails to let me in on these changes. So I'm gonna find out tomorrow. Chances are, HIS managers are possibly changing the name, because that's who usually tells Dale what to do with the place. |

Yeah, Sim, they've told us they just changed their name to Coin It Up, and specifically wanted that new name on the official tourney artwork/flyers.
And yes, the upgrade kit to Exceed 2 should be there and installed in time for the tourney, I'm told. But I don't think it's staying (I think they might downgrade back to their old version afterward, but I'm not certain).
See you there!
EDIT -- I hear the shrimp po-boys are awesome at a place there in the mall. I think the place is called Lion's Share or something like that. Can you confirm? Have you tried theirs? _________________

If it weren't for the fact that Houma is so remote (I almost think it'd take me as long to get there from Biloxi now as it would from Baton Rouge in a month), I would consider showing up for this, but now that it's in Houma instead of Metairie, that's right out. :/
And for the record - I don't know how a shrimp po-boy can be "awesome" at one place and not another. It's like saying that a restaurant serves awesome PB&J. I mean, dressed&pressed is about the extent of a shrimp po-boy's complexity. How do you go past that? _________________

I've never eaten at the Lion's Share, sadly, and neither has anyone else I know. The rest of the guys are always going to Tee Tai's, or however you spell it. It's a small Chinese place on the other side of the arcade. I almost never eat at the mall, myself. But, it wouldn't hurt to try.
Ice, I'm gonna talk to Dale today and see if we can bring a PS2 or something and play some 3rd Strike or other fighting games. This is something we used to do for DDR tournaments. |

You all probably are going to think i'm dumb, but I need to ask a quick question. When they say there is a "Freesyle" section of the tourney, do they just mean Doubles? Or do they mean actual freestyling? (a.k.a Breakdancing for ex.) _________________
Wait, what's a D.D.R?
I love that question. |
