Just a thought. It might be useful for everyone if the Gameplay forum were split into several forums. One for Light, Standard, and Heavy.

Someone should changed the name of this thread to REVIVE N/N/I!
What would be so useful about it? All I see it doing is adding more forums to split the veterans from the newbies. _________________

I don't think the volume of posts is even high enough any more for that to make sense. _________________

It only takes some people a week to move into Heavy, and then a few more weeks to go from Heavy to AAAing stuff. They wouldn't be in that forum for very long at all. _________________

I would if I were a mod, but...who knows where we could find one of those? |

Not to challenge you or anything, but do you have proof? You can't base your information on estimated guesses. If you could somehow show statistically and some type of poll showing that it takes a few more weeks for someone to AAA something in heavy after they have just moved into that level... then i believe you... otherwise, from what i'm seeing all over the place at MANY arcades, people don't AAA something in a couple weeks. For example: Everyone at my local arcade has been playing for 2-3 years... not one AAA in heavy; many AAs though. Also, i'm visiting in CA right now and i just came back from Boomers! and each heavy player that played didn't AAA a single song. Now, to make sure i'm not scamming you or anything, i talked to each and everyone (i usually make DDR friends fast) and they have never gotten one after playing for so long.
So, in conclusion, by saying that in a few weeks someone can AAA something after moving into that level, is quite inaccurate. Proof is needed... _________________

XuXa wrote: | Proof is needed... | Not really. It's tangential to my point, which is that people wouldn't spend long in Light/Standard at all, and so the Heavy forum would largely be the Gameplay forum as it is right now.
Not to mention the fact that Heavy is really the only level of players that's consistent in DDR. "Challenge" is useless because it's not there for 90% of the songs in the series, and there's no other level above Heavy, so once you get up to 8/9, you're at the top of the heap (strictly based on foot ratings). Whereas, (and DO NOT BELABOR THIS EXAMPLE WITH ME) passing Dynamite Rave on Basic is about as a reasonable number of songs on Trick, so there's no such thing as a Trick player, really - you spend too much time between difficulties.
Also, the "weeks to AAAing stuff" was really an exaggeration on my part, though it's not *totally* off the mark. I have never AAA'ed anything and I've been playing off and on for years. And I do know a couple of guys who have earned their first AAA within two months of playing. _________________

You made a lot of similar statements in your most recent FAQ and yet provided no proof. No citations and no more than a MENTION that you had done polls and research. You also claimed to have interviews, but only used one quote (oh, and so I guess you had one citation).
Just thought you should know. _________________

Yep, Cutriss said "some." And, from seeing people in OKC, yeah, there are people that just spend a few (not a couple, a few) weeks in Heavy before getting AAA's in some songs.
Anyway, could I please have some proof that you went to Boomers! and none of the Heavy players there could get AAAs after a few weeks? Otherwise, your statement is inaccurate. _________________

Absolutly I have my wristband from that day with the date as plain as the sun on the sky on it. Lemme scan it and send it to you to prove that i went to boomers. Otherwise, if you're looking for other proof, such as written spoken proof, that's unrealistic to ask for. In fact, this chat didn't even happen until i got back from Boomers.
So, like i said, lemme scan it and i'll PM it to you. It's not "spoken proof", but it's proof nonetheless. _________________

Also, if this partially helps, i will have my sister, brother-in-law and brother talk to you because there were there right next to me watching. So, if you need witnesses, then i would be happy to provide you with them. _________________

People who AAA songs on their third week get banned from DDRFreak and start posting at ITGFreak by the end of the month X-D
Criticism to my idea noted.
