Oh man....
They were even nice enough to revive some old 5 key beatmania songs and put them into IIDX. The Metal Gear Solid theme? I wonder how hard it will get, despite that it was really easy on the original game it came from.
I wonder what other 5 key songs make a comeback. But of course I hope not too many. |

1st mix arcade had 12 and i think my st mixdisk has 15 on it DK has almost 30 but ALL the donkye konga mixes only have about 30 or so
also do we hav eany proof that this is actualy 7 key _________________

DAMMIT PEOPLE! That's the problem with eye-candy interface. You can't tell what information is tangible and important (and real) and what is just junk.

I'll tell you what, I'm freakin' ESTATIC. ESTATIC. We've been waiting almost TEN YEARS for this game to hop the pond. (I remember in a very old gamepro or similar magazine, at least 10 or so years ago, this "arcade watch" that talked about the first Beatmania game.) |

Well I meant DDR 1st US, had somewhere around 20-30 songs or so, so a 1st mix of a game with 50 songs is definetly impressive. As for the game being 7 key, well check around the internet (like IGN, for example.) its based on the IIDX interface (9th style, I think) so more than likely most of the game's songs will be 7 key.

As far as I know, only one of these has ever been in IIDX before! Paranoia Max was on 3rd Style. But none of the other 4 were even featured on IIDX 1st Style or or the Club version or anything. I can't believe it! Could we maybe get some 7th + The Final music in here? I'm not asking for it, I'm asking if it's possible. I can figure what alot of the tracklist will be for the game. Look at what's in the IIDX library that's been exposed to the American market (1) ports into DDR; Era, Tomorrow Perfume, 321 Stars, Logical Dash (2) ports out of DDR; Dynamite Rave, EotC, CSFIL, Max300 (3) Anything recognizeable to Konami fans; The Earth Light, MGS Mission R, Gradius Full Speed. Even without Ultramix's Beatmania-a-thon (which are probably responsible in some way shape or form of getting IIDX released here), you can pull a well balanced game, much akin to 3rd or 5th, and still have lots left over to kick people to the curb for later installments.
Hell, Konami might do something unexpected an say "Ok, here's 511, and an buttload of 5key songs. Oh, and A. And Holic. And Kakumei. And Xenon. And V. Sit down, you're not going anywhere for a while."
Anyone considering a possible set of FreQ/Amp ports into this game?
And pleeeeeaaaasssseeeee include Gambol/e-motion/Overdoser, just for pure hilarity's sake. "I full comboed the song, WHERES MY AA?"
Also, wouldn't it be equally hilarious if they decided to include Second Style or IIDX in the final track list? |

Hey, I have a question: I've seen videos of IIDX players getting scores with mostly "flashing greats," "greats" and a few "goods" and they still get a "AAA." Is there a higher-then-AAA score and how does the scoring exactly work? (I've never played a version with letter scoring.) |

Getting a AAA in IIDX is akin to getting a AA in DDR (US releases excluded). You need to get 8/9 of the max score (AA is 7/9 and it continues down to F), which is total notes x2. Comboing is irrelavent to getting grades, just as long as the score adds up right.
Scoring goes as follows; Flashing/Just Greats are worth 2EX points, normal Greats are 1EX point, everything else is 0EX. Goods keep combo going, and you can get excess Poors from hitting keys when you aren't supposed to, which don't break combo but puts your bar down by 2% usually.
It is possible to get all Flashing Greats on a song, but it's not a AAAA. It's just a AAA with 100% EX points. And it's damn impossible to do on anything other than a few songs, namely Comment te Dire Adieu and 511. |

Yeah, I've watched the 900+ note videos (Jive into the Night, Sync) with AAAs.
Maybe this release is to "prepare" the common players for Beatmania, and the next versions might raise the bar. |
