Ok, I'm thinking about doing a topic shift from just talking about this site thing to actually setting up some things. Once I get things setup the first topic will be the repository with pertinant information/links.

Definately under construction.

Hey folks. I've been finding a few good -origional- (non-copyrighted) Beatmania simfiles, and I've actually been thinking about hosting them on my website.

The problem I've exerpienced in searching for good BM98 origional songs are that, generally:

1. Everything is in Japaneese or Korean happy.gif
2. The files are, generally, insanely hard. (80% of the stuff is 6-star or harder.)

If I did host data that I found from another site, just to be a little more safe I would include where I got it from, and a contact e-mail if the author wanted it removed.

I thought putting up a BM file site (also not just a "Hey, got to this guy's site" thing that doesn't work 99% of the time) might also solve some issues for budding Beatmania players who don't have the funds to invest in Beatmania and/or are too far from a Beatmania arcade system. (And who can't read japaneese/korean and spend hours scouring sites for good files.)

Any suggestions would be great!
-A

If you do so, put up a version of BemaniaDX that's not in a .gca file. The #1 problem people have with BM emulation isn't finding the sim or the files, it's opening the damn thing up.

Hmm, not a bad idea. I use BM98, it's crude as hell but it works. Most of the time.

I've also, just now, considered asking about a BMS exchange thread for legal (origional) BMS files for Beatmania emulation. These would be legal since they were origional freeware.

Just don't link your site to any search engines because man I'm so tired of finding unofficial crap when searching for official BMS files.

Well actually, the idea was for non-official, origional BMS files. I've found some that are really good. riiight.gif

Ok, I got the site up, not much for now but I'm going to be scouring the web for some great BMS files.

If anyone wants to help, post good finds in this thread so that I can add those to the list of working sites. (Please make sure the sites and downloads actually work!)

I'm pretty sure posting links to official bms files is against the rules... but on the other hand the link above has some copywrited songs on there (even thought they are not official files).

Hey guys, this isnt really an on topic post but im really desperate.

I started my BMS collection about a year ago. Sadly My last computer was harshly destroyed thanks to a rampaging 12 year old. I am currently attempting to restore my ollection to its former glory. There was one site i am having a rather difficult time finding. All I can remember is the name SHIKI as the author of most BMS's. The site was in Japanese. It also had some other really good BMS The song im searching for was synth(etic) girls. It might have been synthesized? If you come across this site please let me know. thanks.
