I saw it on a humor sit and found it very funny (and amazing) but it's racking my nerves because I don't know what it is. Please tell me!

P.S. notice beatmania 6th to his right

Oh so that's what it is. I've heard of it. I'd really like to try it. Anyway about BEMANI, I'm not too fluent in the language if you know what I mean. I didn't even pronounce it correctly until I got Dance Dance Revolution for my PS1 and it told me that "This is Konami's famoue BEMANI series!" riiight.gif (I'm not sure I pronounced Konami right either) riiight.gif riiight.gif

That would be Robo playing Classic 4 Hyper Random on a Pop'n Music 7 machine. This is probably the most well-known Pop'n Tatsujin video.

It would be nice to see a Classic 4 Hyper Normal video, because the normal is considerably much harder of a song, being practically all scale rolls and all. The Randoms pretty much avoid the scale rolls, making it equivilent to a 39 or so (instead of 41).

IK did a Classic 4 H video without Random. YOS did one with Mirror.

I think they're both at Bemanistyle.

Then why does the announcer say "This is Konami's famous BEEmani series!"

Because rampage is the only person I know of who pronounces Bemani in that way. Everybody I know, including myself, pronounces it as "Bee Mah Nee."

Then simply consider my question an argument against rampage's statement.

Rampage is right, Its Beh Mah ni. People who speak japaneese pronounce it that way.

The DDR 1st though 5th announcer had an american accent, no? So ofcourse he is going to pronounce it BEEMANI.

I also pronounce it beh-mah-ni, and Tomo you're correct, that would be how it's said in Japanese, so as far as I'm concerned that's how I'll pronounce it heh.

This harkens back to ye olde po-kee-mon vs po-kay-mon argument. American commercials vs the "otakus". There's really no right way. Everyone has a different accent. To each his own. I, myself pronounce it bay-ma-ni, but there's nothing wrong with pronouncing it otherwise, as that's how it's advertised.
