Ok, I bought the EMS USB 2.0 so I can plug in two pads for my upcoming event, but, the thing sucks. It registers everything slightly too late and gives you greats for perfects, and perfects for greats, and increases your chances of goods. Its gay. Do I need to install that little program on the floppy disk for it to work better? I tried to check it on another computer in my house, but one doesn't have USB ports (its old), and the other has XP (doesn't work with XP) So, it could just be the computer, its running Windows 2000, and is a fairly decent computer, nothing too special, but good. _________________

Despite my best efforts I have that same problem with my EMS adapter. XP autoinstalls drivers for it, so it should work on XP. |

*searches* it seems that tons of people have this problem. Whenever I see someone say this thing is good, I will immediately tell them otherwise... this was a waste of $16.... _________________

Ok. I got everything to work ok. First, for it to read the drivers, the switch on the adaptor had to be turned to PC, not game. Then all that worked out and everything got configured. And then, I simply switched over to Alpha 7, which works wonderfully on this computer, and the synching isn't bad at all, like it is in 3.0 final. AND, I can arrange the songs how I want them. So uh, thanks to the people who helped me out with the putting the songs in my own order, and any person with high power, you can close this. _________________

That odd, i have an EMS USB with a Cobalt and my timing is right on (i get about 15 greats on my summer love in arcade, and i got about 18-20 when i played it on CF...)
EDIT: what kind of computer are you running stepmania on?...could be that your computer is too slow...i run a 2.4 pentium 4 with ge force 4 graphics card (it's only 32mb laptop video card, but it runs stepmania perfectly) |

ok, person who made this post. I had that same problem as well. All I did was in the second page of stepmania after you choose a song, choose auto sync or auto play or auto sumthing. Thatll fix it. it might take a second or two, but itll fix it |
