Today's the day! Konami's new DDR home version for the US PS2, DDR MAX2: Dance Dance Revolution, will be available in stores starting today. With over 65 songs, new game modes, and tons of old and new licensed songs, this mix is sure to please nearly every DDR player!

The game retails for $39.95, and is available in a bundle pack with a Konami soft dance mat for $59.95. You can find it at your local game store or order it online from RedOctane.

Interesting.... stores got it, but we don't? ARGH! We actually checked a few stores local to us and found that they haven't received their copies yet either (Fry's Electronics didn't have any, Toys R Us is now stating release on the 26th). We had to change our release date to tomorrow. Again... ARGH!

Picked up my copy earlier today...overall its a very well balanced mix. Some of the licensed songs are watered down 7 footers but I still enjoyed them. I'm UBER happy that they brought back Drifting Away, So Deep, and Ghosts...goes to show that Konami of America is looking out for the players interest. The lack of a oni mode doesn't really disappoint me at all...the Non-stop mode is enough for me to be entertained. I mean soft home pads + oni mode = player disappoint...you can't win

(Note: I have a Red Octane 2.0 pad and still Oni mode sucks on them)

I got the first 8 unlocks finished already and the songs aren't all that bad...couple old schoolers but still good ones.
