Whats the overall best way to go

Hey guys... Im interested in using DDR on my pc for a workout... I have the BNS foam pad, here are some things Id like to know:

-Whats the best and most like the DDR in the arcade (software)

-Which software has diet/workout mode

-Whats the best DDR pad driver for my PC

-Wheres the best place to get real DDR songs and steps

+Nething else you think I should know

My opinions in this situation are as follows:
-Whats the best and most like the DDR in the arcade (software)
The most popular ones talked about and used are Stepmania and Dance with Intensity. The Extreme theme skins for both programs are either under construction or partly available for download, and they do imitate the real DDR arcade very well. Overall, I recommend Stepmania CVS Alpha 3 for now tho.
-Which software has diet/workout mode
This I don't know. You wanted a real arcade experience right? Why diet mode now?
-Wheres the best place to get real DDR songs and steps
Much of the popular sites are down for downloads, but try DDRUK.com to get started. But i can also offer this site: www.ismusic.ne.jp/yos/bms.htm
It's Japanese and it gives files that are in bms format, so find a software that reads bms files (ie. Stepmania)

Stepmania by far. I would suggest the CVS available at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=37892

None that are current to my knowledge, or any. I just play till i can barely walk.

-Whats the best DDR pad driver for my PC

PSXPAD ( http://www.psxpad.com/index_e.php ) is the best i know for Parralel port 2 PSX adapters. I dont have a USB>PSX so i wouldent know any others.

try irc. If you dont know how, there are some tutorials somewhere around on DDRUk at www.ddruk.com they should also have info on the proper servers/channels for files.

+Nething else you think I should know

The best way to get good song files and steps is through bumper packs. Most people here will tell you to try and get them from ddruk's website, but there are much more readily available off of IRC via Fserves.

Also, if your in /ddrmaniax on the DDRUK server (irc.faereal.net, also where #ddruk is located) tell me (Ben_F) that you read this and il throw you a free Bumper Pack download (i love Cable internet).

I got stepmania 3.9 and the Max2 skin... thanx, should I get the PSXPAD beta drivers or the normal? Also I've been unsuccesful with the IRC channel (yes I know howto use it) it just doesnt have enough sources for stuff, and u werent online at the time... so whats a good website to get SM poopy from since ddruk is for DWI

www.turtleddr.com is THE best place to get all the DDR songs ever made for DWI and SM. Sign up and find a good download accelerator because the file sizes are big.

I went to turtleddr, they dont have StepMania songs files, just DWI... also, when u log in it goes to korean and u cant go to english

Thanx everyone... I got it working and have all the songs from ddr max 2

I ended up using NTpad cuz psxpad wouldnt let me hit to directionals at the same time... either way, thanx everyone.
