Legal? Probably if you don't distribute it. Definitely not legal if you sell it. Though as far as anyone knows, it can't be done. It's not compatable. Though, as stated, it has been seen on the Xbox. Since it's a computer internally in the first place.

Stepmainia is for linux now, you just have your hard drive on your PS2 and place them on your network, have you PC/ps2 log into your network, and download the files, and run them, and have fun. I don't if that could realy work, the pad and all would need drives or somthing, I use window os so, I don't know. Or run the pads with USB or Firewire on the PS2. But look at the description of on the playstaion.com webpage as follows: Linux enthusiasts and programmers can now use the same system they play their favorite PlayStation 2 formatted games on to run thousands of Linux applications! Combining the incredible technology of the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment with the endlessly versatile Linux operating system, Linux Kit (for PlayStation 2) allows you to use the PlayStation 2 system as a fully functional desktop computer. Download a wealth of Linux programs--HTML editors, multimedia players, programming environments, office solutions, and more--and open a new world with the power of the next generation in computer entertainment.

Hmmm, that sounds like what you do with stepmania, or that what I"m doing too it. Ok, have fun, with all this information.

This is true, but he could spend less on an Xbox (179.99) on which to run Stepmania than on a PS2 which runs Linux which runs Stepmania (199.99 plus cost of monitor w/ Sync-On-Green capabilities)
