I have noticed that when doing Oni courses on StepMania CVS I have been getting low percentages when completing the courses. Now, at first I figured that I just sucked or whatever. Big deal.

Yesterday I beat Nearly=130 and got a, relatively speaking, pretty abysmal 80.6%. Obviously I was a little upset. E10.gif

Anyways, today I went to www.aaroninjapan.com and I entered my stats into his Oni Dance Course Calculator. It turns out that according to his site I should have gotten a much more respectable 93.1% (damn that Higher remix).

My question is this: When playing Oni with the dance percentage instead of points with Marvelouses turned on, does it frick up your score?

Sounds like it might be a calculation error in SM, or a bug. You should report this and include any log files SM generates in the StepMania thread in DDRManiaX's forums.

Phrek, any way to make people aware that they're more likely to get technical help on questions such as this if they go to a thread that the SM creators frequent, so that threads like this don't pop up all the time? No offense, Dead-Meat E1.gif

i think it's because you have marvelous turned on.
and because you have marvelous turned on each step is worth a maximum of 3 points instead of 2, causing your percentage to be lower.
i think that might have been why konami switched to the point system instead of percentages in the first place.

Well I just played again earlier with dancepoints + marvelouses and percentage + no marvelouses.

I forget what I got with dance points + marvelouses (I don't know what is really good anyways when it comes to dance points... I've never even played on an Extreme machine) but I got a much better 96.5% with marvelouses turned off and percentage turned on.

I full combo'd it too. biggrin.gif
