|
|
I am currently borrowing GF from a friend but it doesn't seem to work on my PSX. It gives me a screen with a red circle with a line through it and some stuff written in JAP. I hear that means that the game picked up my mod chip. (PlugMod)
I was also told that there was an override code for gameshark (comes with the plugmod) that will get rid of that anti-mod thing. Does anyone have that code and/or any other way to fix this? Thanks. |

I just got my copy of guitar freaks yesterday, but I got that red/black screen of death too.
Copy the ISO to your harddrive.
Go to megagames.com... console patches.
Run the patch program.
Burn the patched ISO onto a disk.
Enjoy.
I can't really go into too much detail on this one, but it's easy. _________________

OK since you got that far, I will help you.
On megagames, on the page where you downloaded the xps file, on a sidebar on the right there should be a program called xps patcher.
Go to download.com or some similar site and get the program called discjuggler. Use the option which is something like create disc image, and instead of the cdi extention, give the disc image an iso extention
Run the xps patcher on the file you created.
Use disc juggler to create a cd from the patched iso (it's called something like create cd from disc image) _________________

Ok i've gotten the ISO and the XPS patcher. But for some reason when i try to open the XPS Pather it opens a MSDOS-Prompt and then immidietly exits. I think that might result in a problem. |

Open up the command prompt.
Go to the directory of the xps patcher, the iso and the xps file.
xps g_freaks.xps g_freaks.iso
Then burn the new iso to a blank disc. _________________

I think he means to open the command prompt first. ie Start > Run > command (win98/me) or cmd (2k/xp). |

Well thank you very much Syxx pak and babs. I got GF to work. Thanks for all of your help. Now i have one last question. Does GF 2nd mix have anti-mod protection and if so does megagames have the patch? |

I think 2nd mix does have anti-mod-ness. Anyone have the gameshark codes for getting rid of the anti-mod-ness? I have a PlugMod (i.e. crapmod) that has a gameshark built in. Maybe those codes will work for me. |

If I recall, the process involved copying some programs from the key-disc (probably the boot loader) so that the PSX think it's a key-disc rather than an append disc. I don't remember what the process involved. Google it. |

I had the same problem, at first i thought it was the modchip, but after
installing a switch to disconnect the chip completely from the PSX board
it wont work...
i guess the game checks the country code of the psx hardware
and so it will only work on japanese Playstations.
so I finally downloaded the cracked independence version.
I guess its okay if you own the original GF1 and 2 |
